Our first afternoon high tea at Tokyo Pastry.
Address: No.2A-1, Jalan PJY 5/9, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara.

Doubtedlessly a classy European style cafe with calm and cosy ambiance, offering a wide varieties of pastries, cakes and desserts (all looks fabulous and tempting). To our surprise it is not a Japanese style cafe and bakery shop. Seats are quite limited though.

Our afternoon high tea set for 2 pax on a 3 tier stand.

The top most tier came with chococlate flavoured hokkaido chiffon cupcakes and a slice of sesame cake with macaron. Cupcake was not a fluffy one and the cream did not taste good. Sesame cake was too dry and not fresh. The macaron was too sweet to our liking.

Melon buns, hokkaido cupcake (again) and swiss rolls on the middle tier. For your information, melon bun, also known as melonpan, is a type of sweet bun from Japan. It wasn't melon flavoured, slightly dry at the outer layer (like cookies crust) but soft and moist on the inside with cream as a filling. We like these melon buns and they weren't too sweet. Swiss roll was just an oridnary swiss roll, nothing too great.

The lowest tier consisted of deep fried chicken wings and sandwiches. Nothing too great.

Tea was good (at least it was Dilmah tea).

Overall, it wasn't a good afternoon high tea experience as the foods weren't as good as we expected and we had to wait for more than an hour to be given a seat. Sigh.
