Now it is the burger season? At present, there are uncountable burger joints in town serving decent burgers. Not sure if you know there is one in Kota Damansara too, the Bert's Jr. Gourmet Burger (Address/ Location: 3-1, Jalan PJU 5/3, Dataran Sunway, Kota Damansara, 47810 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia).

The first thing which caught my eyes when I step into Bert's Jr. Gourmet Burger was the colourful artwork on the wall. A really big piece of wall art done by a group of volunteered art college students. After several attempts to capture the whole piece of wall art by using the iPad panorama app, it turns out to be quite good with exception there is one part which blurry a little bit due to the light reflection.

Therefore, to share with you this piece of beautiful art, I re-captured the art part by part. I hope you enjoy them and try to spot a quote from the wall arts. "Not so-fast fast food".

"Not so-fast fast food"? So, I thought most likely we will spend some time waiting for the burgers to be served. But out of my expectation, the burgers are served in less than 15 minutes.

Here is another photo to show you the interior of Bert's Jr. Gourmet Burger restaurant. The design is rather simple with no special theme. Please take note that you have to go to the counter to place your order and make payment. Do not get nervous if this is your first visit and you have no idea what to order, the staff here are friendly and patience enough to give you some suggestions. For your information, Bert's Jr. does not serve pork or alcohol on its menu. They serve only beef, lamb, fish and chicken.

Another good piece of art on the wall located next to the counter.

There are seven burgers under "The Big Eat" menu, burgers with special name which specially crafted for your craving: Dark Vader, Steamed beef burger, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Jaw Breaker, Grill'd Chicken, "Hot" Chick and Finding Dory (those in bold are the top sellers). Prices range from RM 13.90 to RM 21.90 for regular size, RM 9.90 to RM 17.90 for small size. You can add another RM 5 to make it a combo which comes with a soft drink and a side order. If you think The Big Eat is too pricey, you can go for The Big Deal, prices range from RM 5.90 to RM 9.90. Out of the seven The Big Eat, I decided to go for Dark Vader and Hot Chick.

"Hot" Chick RM 14.90 and the side dish, steakhouse fries. A burger of grilled chicken thigh marinated with black pepper sauce topped with chicken mushroom cold cuk and cheddar cheese, egg, green leaves, peeled tomato and caramelized onions.

The buns were soft but best with charcoal bun. The grilled chicken thigh surprisingly turned out to be quite soft and juicy. The black pepper sauce somehow does not taste the same as any other black pepper sauce out there, not too pepper-ish. The other ingredients, especially the egg, added another flavour to the burger which make the burger overall an awesome combination. My friend enjoyed the burger very much. I never like chicken thigh burger this much too. Not to forget to mention, the fries were served fresh.

Dark Vader RM 16.90. A 200g premium beef patty burger topped with beef pepperoni cold cuk mozzarella cheese and cheddar cheese, green leaves, peeled tomato and caramelized onions. As for the side dishes, we opted for coleslaw and potato croquette.

The beef patty is made of minced beef, hence it is really soft. Savoury, however, not juicy enough. There are two types of cheese but still the cheesiness not up to my satisfaction. Overall, this burger is still desirable although I felt it lacks of something which I don't know how to describe here. As for the cold coleslaw and potato croquette, they both taste good.

And for the drink, we ordered honey lemon and root bear.

I never been to any other famous burger joints for example MyBurgerLab, Burger Junkyard, The Grind Burger Bar, Burgertory, etc. Hence, I can't really compare these burgers with the others. But I think there is still room of improvement for their burgers. I will visit Bert's Jr. Gourmet Burger again for their Baa Baa Black Sheep because there are so many good comments on this burger. I had never try any lamb patty burger before, hope it is good.

How not to be burgerholics? There are so many tempting burgers out there :D

Busy like a bee, typical life as a Medical Science student. And so, finally a blog update after struggling for scientific reading and laboratory experiments. Back in May, we spotted this Flash Back Cafe at Lebuh Acheh (Location/ Address: No. 41 & 43, Lebuh Acheh, 10300 Georgetown, Penang) while searching for street arts around that area in Georgetown Penang.

This giant teddy bear (with a "I Love You" red balloon) was the thing that caught our attention. Fluffy and cute. So, we decided to take a coffee break at this cafe.

A menu board outside the cafe.

Some simple drawing on the wall of the pillar outside the cafe. Coffee and tea.

This teddy bear decoration at the glass window of the entrance really beautiful. But the bear actually looks sad. It is like waiting for the return of loved one.

Painting on the wall inside Flash Back Cafe. Then, the next few photos to show you the interior of the cafe and some of the decorations. The decorations rather simple.

I did some search on the internet and then only realized Flash Back is actually a homestay which comes with 5 different type of rooms (single bed, double bed, twin bed, triple bed and quad bed) as well as family suite, with air-conditioned. So, if you are interested, you can visit their official Facebook page for more information.

Back to Flash Back Cafe, they serves only coffee, tea, beer, cake and snacks. As shown in the menu below.

We ordered only a cup of Hazelnut coffee. RM 4. The coffee is up to the satisfaction and the price is so reasonable as compared to other cafe which selling a cup of normal coffee at price RM 9 and above. I'm regret that I didn't look through the menu seriously. And so didn't realize they are selling fried ice-cream which I would like to try.

Flash Back Cafe, a good place to chill or to take a coffee break. Last but not least, a photo of me with the mural at Lebuh Acheh (just few door steps away from Flash Back Cafe).

"It's not the goodbye that hurts, but the flashbacks that follow."

Till then. Follow my blog page for more updates. Upcoming post's clue: Dark Vader and Hot Chick. Guess what are these? :)
